It’s arguable that parkour history goes back as far as that of human beings. These are the important figures in the development of the modern discipline.
Kinetix began its journey as a performance group when our founder, Brad Wendes, and his friends reached the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent in 2007. From there, Kinetix grew into a globally recognised brand, providing high-end corporate entertainment, producing action-packed shows, including entire pieces of theatre written and produced by Kinetix, and performed around the UK. With appearances on TV shows, feature films, and theatre productions, Brad and the team have become experts in choreography, consultancy, and action sequences for both stage and screen.
In 2008 Kinetix started running regular Parkour & Acrobatic classes in Essex & Hertfordshire. These were primarily aimed at young people who were at risk, or from low-income families. The accessible, inclusive, and non-competitive nature of parkour, delivered by inspiring young coaches with plenty of stories to tell proved to be a winning solution for youth engagement.
Brad, the Founder and Director of Kinetix, is an experienced performer and a former Elected Director of Parkour UK, the national governing body for parkour and freerunning. His years of industry experience shape the heart of our work. Brad was not only on the team who wrote the first ever Parkour Coaching Standards in the UK, but was also on the Exec Board of Parkour UK when Parkour was recognised as a sport in the UK in 2017.
In 2022 we started a separate not-for-profit organisation called Kinetix Academy CIC. This organisation was set up exclusively to support those in the most need of some support, whether it be to access sport and physical activity, to feel included and part of something, or receive mentorship and support in any aspect of their lives.
Today Kinetix offer so much more than just entertainment. Our coaching team includes Guinness World Record-breaking athletes and highly qualified instructors who have years of experience in parkour coaching, mentorship, and youth intervention. We provide a safe, welcoming, and fun environment where children, teens, and adults can learn new movement skills, gain confidence, and make lasting friendships.
Our coaches are fully qualified, insured, and hold up-to-date enhanced DBS background checks. Each coach holds nationally accredited coaching qualifications, endorsed by CIMSPA, Parkour UK, 1st4Sport Qualifications, and YMCA Fitness, ensuring the highest standard of coaching and safety.
Kinetix is not just about parkour classes. We also offer team-building days, engaging workshops in schools and community settings, working with local authorities, county councils, and schools throughout the UK. We still provide dynamic performers for corporate events, parties, and functions, and our team is available to offer health and fitness seminars or youth project consultations. Brad is also available as a speaker and presenter to bring an interesting twist to your event.
Based in our dedicated training space, the Kinetix Academy in Essex, we also produce our own media, including videos and photos, which can be viewed on our YouTube Channel.
